HOUSTON (October 6, 2014) – Memorial Hermann has announced plans to build a fourth convenient care center as part of its ongoing effort to expand high-quality, patient-centered care throughout the communities it serves. The Memorial Hermann Convenient Care Center (CCC) in Cypress is expected to be completed in early 2016 as part of Phase I of the $168 million Memorial Hermann Cypress Hospital medical campus construction.

The 45,000-square-foot Cypress CCC will provide one-stop, highly-coordinated access to adult and pediatric primary care, specialty physicians, sports medicine and rehabilitation, outpatient imaging and lab services – including The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Breast Care with Memorial Hermann – and a 24-hour emergency room. The CCC is designed to take the stress out of scheduling appointments for routine health needs by offering families options such as walk-in access and extended evening and weekend hours.

Located on a 32-acre site on the northeast side of US Highway 290 and the Grand Parkway between Mason Road and Mueschke Road, the Cypress CCC will be housed in the 170,000-square-foot Medical Plaza, which is also scheduled to open in early 2016. Phase II of the project will be the construction of an 80-bed, acute care hospital – complete with a dedicated Memorial Hermann Life Flight® helipad – slated for completion in 2017.

The hospital will include:

  • 8 operating rooms
  • 16-bed Intensive Care Unit
  • Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
  • Cardiac Catheterization Lab

The Cypress campus master plan also includes the capacity to grow inpatient beds with two additional patient bed towers to accommodate future growth, and space for two additional medical office buildings.

The Cypress CCC will join sister facilities in Summer Creek, Pearland and South Katy.

Construction of the medical campus in Cypress is part of the health system’s strategic growth initiative – Breaking New Ground – designed to meet current and future healthcare needs in the greater Houston region. The initiative also includes the construction of a medical campus in Pearland featuring a 64-bed hospital, and multi-million dollar expansions at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical CenterMemorial Hermann Katy Hospital and Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital.
